APPOINTMENT IN ITALY. AUCKLAND, .tune 25. There was a, large gathering of Roman Catholic clergy at the Auckland railway station last evening to farewell Father J. Zanna, who left by the limited express for Wellington, where he will join the Tamaroa, sailing for London on Saturday. Father Zanna has been recalled to Italy to take charge of the large St. Joseph’s seminary in tlie Tyrol, where'' missionaries are trained for service in all partis of the world. Father Zanna is a member of the Mill Hill Society and crime to New Zealand-about 27 years ago. He worked •among th& Maoris in the North and .South, .formany year's arid three years ago took charge of the training college for Maori boys at North cote. ....... .... ~, ..... _ ; ..... ■ The" seniinary, to; which 'Father Zanna is going is Vi.n. territory transferred from Austria to Italy after the war. Under the Italianisation echeme introduced hv the Government, it was decreed that all those holding executive or official posts must be nativeborn and Father Zanna is one of those recalled to Italy to fill important posts vacated by German or Austrian occupants.'
