THEFT CHARGE
SALESMAN • BEFORE. COURT. YOUNG WOMEN VICTIMISED. (Per Press Association—' Copyright), CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. Osrey Arthur Fitzgerald, aged 32, a salesman, of Australia, wlas charged with thrift of various sums from young women. The police alleged that he booked orders for linen on the time payment system, and that lie secured customers by ascertaining the names of girls who had recently become engaged, and would require linen. He had failed to supply, the gcSods even after final payments had been made. He was arrested at Wellington. ..... He evidently had no intention to fulfil the orders. After evidence Was heard, the Magistrate, (Mr E. D. Mosley), adjourned the hearing to allow accused the opportunity to refund the moneys.
