FOUND DROWNED
REEFTON RESIDENT (Per Press Association—Copyright). REEFTON, June 26. A well-known Reefton business man, Mr Harry Brietstadt, was this afternoon found to have come to an .untimely death. Last night about 10.30 o’clock he left his home, after saying to his wife that he was not feeling well, and 'that ho would go for a walk. When he remained away overnight, however,, and had not returned home by this morning, Mrs Brietstadt became anxious for his safety } and she informed the police of the matter. A diligent search was at once undertaken by the police and others, and about 3.30 o’clock this afternoon- the .body. r,f the missing man was discovered by. Messrs P. Slattery and F: King in the Inangahua River, not far from the town. The late Mr Brietstadt, who was about sixty• years of age, was a native of South Germany, and had lived on the West Coast between 35 and 40 years. He‘ conducted the business of a .Jo’.’ekeoper, and carried on shops at To Kinga, Bel! Hill and Rum. He then took a trip to his native country pt’d on his return started business at Reefton. He leaves a wife (a daughter of Mr Tlios. Fearv).
