INDOOR BOWLS
■An Indoor bowling rink has been "opened.' in Ghristchuivjh which has j ample room .for eight rinks, j The large brick and stone building in which the -rinks have been built was erected three years ego i'o r a skating rink. The concrete floor of the rink was reduced to a perfect jfpvel 'by means of bitumen, after which 13,090 feet of Canadian pu;pwood was laid down.. On top of this was la-id the “grass,” a green-dyed i sawdust sot in -a yielding rubber eom- | position. The rink is 136 feet Wide by 90 feet -from ditch to ditch, while the indoor pavilion contains a buffet, tea lounge, men’s and women's locket’ rooms and lounges, social room, offices, spectators’ gallery, and bicycle accommodation.
The whole building is kept -at a uniform temperature by a hot oilplant. Skylights provide- adequate light for play during the daytime, while there is a,n efficient floodlighting system for night play.
