At.the 'Magistrate’s Court-, - Westport, on Wednesday*, J. S. Alien' was charged before Mr W. Meldrum, S. M. with flying in a machine that was not certificated or air-worthiness ad of. registered, and also with flying without a pilot’s license. The case arose out of the recent crash at Carter’s. Sergeant Mclntyre conducted the case for the Director of Air Services (Squad-ron-Leader T. M. Wilkes), and Mr 13. Scullly appeared on behalf of Allen. After hearing the Sergeant and Air Scully, the Magistrate imposed a fine of £2 and costs on the first charge, and convicted and discharged defendant on the other two charges.
