K. Holden and obtaiued £4 17s 6d by falsely representing that the money wa e for a fidelity bond in the firm of J. Oppenheim and 'Co., bankers, of Auckland He was remanded till June 26. This morning a double burglary was discovered in Eketahuna, During the week-end Herbert and Co.’s premises were entered Gelignite was u«ed on the double lock of the big s a fe door, but waa unsuccessful. The walls of the office were plastered with butter, used for packing. The tills in the shop were opened, but only a pound and threepence secured. Apparently no goods were taken. The primary .school wag also entered, and all the drawers ransacked. Here the 'burglars used utensils and biscuits 'for a cup of tea.

WHITE HERON IN BLENHEIM.. BLENHEIM, June 19. Curiously enough, in view of ffiie Auckland message yesterday, a white heron or Kotukn has made its home in Blenheim. It has been observed during the last ..few days from the High Street bridge. It appears to be quite tame.
