SUICIDE’S WEALTH
i DISCLOSURE AT AUCKLAND. (Per Prest A»soc,ation Copyright.) AUCKLAND, June 19. Evidence of unexpected wealth was discovered by the police when they examined the body of Charles Lynn Hadfield, aged 40 yeans, who was found in his shack at Coromandel recently, with a wound in his throat. Tile deceased, who had settled in Coromandel about two and a-lialf years previously, had lived by himself, and lie had few friends. He had previously lived at Wangaroa. The body was found by a neighbour, who informed the police. The deceased had a razor in his hand, ami two others were on a chair beside him. When the police examined the body, they found, in a. small linen bag hung about his neck by a string, a receipt for £6OO in New Zealand Government bonds, a Post Office bank book showing a credit of nearly £509, several one pound notes, ami a tobacco tin containing two half sovereigns wrapped in 1 paper. A receipt fo r 10s from a solicitor for forwarding a will was also found. An inquest was Held by the Coroner. He found that the deceased died from a self-inflicted razor wound.
