DOUBLE MURDER
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER. ACCUSED DECLARED INSANE. SUVA, June 7. The sequel to a double murder in the Vunidawa district in - A pn7. last, whcD a Fijian woman and her daughter were decapitated with a cane kmic, was heard at the Supreme' Court at Sova to-dav, when Enosi Tamr.nivalu ap' pea.red for .trial on a charge of murdering his mother and sister. The Attorney-General said that he did not think that tho accused wa« i n a. fit condition to. plead. It was stated that the accused had previously been certified insane and had been in the asylum for two months when he was discharged. A rambling statement bv the accused dn which he said his mother was blind and unhappy and that he wished to end her unhappiness, was also read. Medical evidence to the effect that accused wag .insane- was not fit to plead. He was ordered to be given and the Court agreed that he wag detained at His Majesty's pleasure.
