SUPPORT FOR AIR SERVICE. h- IMPROVED FACILITIES. ■ : SUVA, June 6. Although bad flying conditions marked the first month’s operations of the newly-established Fiji Airway's, Limited. Fiji is rapidly becoming air-minded, and with the operation of a. regular flying schedule to various partes of the main, island and also to the island of Oyalau, the number of people using the, service is steadily mounting.
Although a service was maintaieed with one seaplane by Captain Fenton for seveml year lS before 1 the advent of the; subsidised service, this did not receive'the same patronage as . tho more extensive ; service is now receiving. The granting of a subsidy of £.1500 a .year by (he Fjii Covprnmet is enabling the coinpariy to run a scheduled service, mncl even at this early stage it would appear that! the service established as creating denv rd.
