BURGLARS BUSY

IN PALMERSTON NORTH. ATTEMPT TO BLOW SAFE OPEN. ‘ (Per t'resz Association— Copyright.) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 16. On entering the premises this morning the head of a leading business firm found that an attempt had been made to blow open the safe, which, however I liad resisted the efforts, though the lock was badly damaged. Curtains had been torn'down and' used to deaden the’' sound of the explosion. The office drawer had been searched and small change taken. Early in the week the Terrace End school was broken into, but nothing was taken. Last night the College Street'school was unlawfully entered and five shillings stolen.
