After a hearing lasting for 15J days the case concluded ■in . the Supreme Court, in which forty-nine shareholders in the 'Speedwell Oil Company (New Zealand), Ltd., claimed £4633 from Harry Clinton McElwain, a former director of the Company. . 1 .• Plaintiffs alleged : that: representations in the prospectus ,of the Company were untrue, 'and that the Company did not obtain the full, minimum subscription of £6OOO ‘within 90 days, as provided in th& prospectus. ;. ..
