From here he was rescued, apparently with some difficulty, by two of the nursing staff, namely, Sister Becker and Nurse O’Connor. Me would he pleased if you would convey this to the Board, as we feei that such a plucky act should not pass without being placed on record.” The Chairman moved that the action of the two nurses be placed oh record aiid a letter of appreciation selit to them. Me said the patient had cleared out and they had had their work cut out to capture him, and also to step him from committing suicide. The motion was unanimously carried.

At Addington stock sales on Wednesday says the “Press”, there was a further advance in prices for store sheep, fat lambs, and fat sheep which has materially altered the outlook of vendors. The confidence in the ruling values is more general than for a long iperiod. Fat sheep sold firmly with an advance in the latter stages of up to Is a head. Fat lambs sold very keenly with an advance of Is to Is 6d a .head. The entry of store sheep was larger than normal •and the interest was better than for many weeks. All good types of ewes and lambs advanced Is to 2s a head. The heaviest entry of fat cattle for a very long time showed a surprisingly slight easing, inferior grades being the principal sufferers.
