MAN’S VAIN SEARCH TN FAST. BLOCKED BY OFFICIALS. (Per Prest Association— Copyright.) AUCKLAND, June 15 A naturalised Now Zealander, named P. Artmiieff, a farmer in North Auckland, returned this week from the Far East after vainly attempting io reach Vladivostock. Ho left Russia in 1912. and, until recently, had received letters from his parents. They .suddenly ceased, and, being anxious, be resolved to go and find his parents, but be was blocked hv the Japanese at Kobe, who constantly shadowed him, ,-and by the Russian conoid who refused him a visa. He returned to Shanghai, and vainly endeavoured to get into touch with his naronts until money shortage forced his return. Mr Aiteinieff said that in Shanghai, the .Russian community were certain that Russia a.n-1 Japan would not fight, because Russia feared a,- revolution.
