The King hoe 'awarded a bronze medal for gallantry for saving life at sea, to Janies V ilLam Scott, first mate of the Southern Cross, for swimming ashore- with a line despite storms, dullness and sharks when the vessel was wrecked on 31st October, 1902, at Ancctyum Island. The Papal Nuncio, as Doyen of the diplomatic corps, is protesting to the Government against Wasscrbaeck’s aircr;fc, in Violation of diplomatic exterritoriality. VIENNA, June 14. Wasscrbaeck has been appointed counsellor to the Austrian Legation i« Jjondon.
