The question as to whether newspaper,? could be sold and distributed in New Plymouth on :a Sunday was raised at the Police Court to-day when a bookseller was charged with selling papers on Sunday evening. Ho paid that he had followed the practice for route years. Council said that at Auckland distribution, but not actual sale, of papers wars allowed on Sundays The police said even if that was the practice in Auckland, the New Plymouth police would not allow it. The charge was dismsised, but tire magistrate warned the bookseller that the practice must cease.
