STOWAWAYS ON VESSEL. (Per Press Association—Copyright). AUCKLAND, June 13. Two young men from Takaka, Nelson, were charged to-day before 'Mr ‘McKean, S.M., in the Police Court, iwith stowing away on the Manama at Auckland on June 2nd. The accused |w.cre James John -Dalton, 'labourer, aged 22, and iKonald Alva. 'Simmons labourer, aged 20. . Both pleaded guilty. It was ; • sifted that the two young men crossed, -from Nelson to the North Island, then walked from Wellington to Auckland •in search of work. They boarded the Mamma at Auckland, but were detained in Sydney and sent back to New Zealand. The •accused were convicted- and each ordered to pay £5, restitution, in default six weeks’ imprisonment.
