The "‘‘Sun” says the debt situation is changing hourly, and has provided Whitehall with thirty hours of continuous tension, comparable to a wartime .'crisis. A mere handful are aware of ,Mv 'Roosevelt’s momentous decision, the * details whereof Mr Chamberlain is drafting into a statement. The entire Cabinet, excepting Mr MacDonald land iMr Chamberlain, were on me front bench when ‘Mr Baldwin, M 1 Muncinlan and Mr Thomas were sudden, ly called"' behind the Speaker’s chair.. The atmosphere was electric, as R wa? realised that ,a hitch had occurred. It believed that'Mr Roosvelt suddenly changed his mind and desired to avoid tlje necessity of immediately facing; Congress. Therefore he wished to postpone the ,statement to June 15.
