Mr Rothera, who is a shot-firer employed at the Dobson mine, has, during the slack period, been engaged goldmining in the rough broken country at the back of Taylorville. Yesterday he went to his claim as usual, hut when he did not return homo at night an alarm was raised. A large number of willing searchers set out, equipped with lamps provided by the management of Brunner Colleries, Ltd., but found no trace of the missing man! He, however, found his way out of the bush about 9 a.m. to-day, some miles distant from where lie entered the bush. Mr Rothera was none the worse for liis experience, having been fortunate enough to find a hut, where lie spent the night. When it was known that Mr Rothera was safe, the searchers still in the busn this morning were recalled hv means cf a whistle at the Wallsend mine.
