N.S.W. REFERENDUM
NO INJUNCTION ; COURT REFUSES APPLICATION. (Australian Pres* Association.) SYDNEY, May 26. The- Full Court of New South Wales to-day unanimously refused the application for an injunction in regard to the validity of the Referendum on the Bill to reform the Legislative Council. The Court intimated that it would give its reasons for the. refusal next week.
For the plantiffs, Mr Loxton, K.C., intimated the "intention of taking' the case to the High Court of Australia, and he asked the Court to continue the interim injunction granted on May 19th.
Mr Justice Harvey replied: “We do not think there is sufficient substance in your application to continue it.” He then announced: “The Court unanimously dismisses the application for an injunction. We will give our reason next week.”
