That happened at a euchre party at Band wick on the night of April 23 'ihe sequel was related in the Onetra] .Summons Court, when Horton Ward, retired constable, charged Linda Margrot James, wife of Constable Regigaret James, wife of Constable Regiiug words. Ward said that when the left bower fell, he to hi Mrs James she had reneged. Mrs James said: “I know you are a mongrel and a rotter. When you were in the polite force you locked up men for nothing, and swore lies about them. You were one of tho biggest- liars in the fore: 1 . Mr James told me all about you. You were chucked out of the force for telling lies.’* Airs James said that when slie was accused <>f renctrino;, she denied it hut her partner explained that she bad been guilty. Wait! then said be was taking two points for the renege, and threw hi; cams on tilt tab!*. •
She re-plied. ‘That is the dirtiest trick I’ve ever seen played on mo in all Hie years I have been, playingcards. I am satisfied about you. Mr James has told me about von.”
After a conference between the p-rt ies Mrs James’ solicitor said .she would apologise. ■ The chargd was then withdrawn.
