WILLIS EXCELLED FROM PARTY

A further development in the Bulli bye-election is tha the president of the State Laboru Party announces the expulsion of Mr Willis from the party owing to his action in defying the executive, and nominating for Bulli.
A swift countermove was made by £ number of union secretaries who igsueu a manifesto requesting a .special State Labour eo n f erence in J u ty- ' The manifesto claims that the present crisis in the Labour movement is the culmination of a long ..series of illjudged, foolish actions which prevented Labour in this State and the Commonwealth from gaining the reins of Government.

The Bulli electorate is in high excitement. Mr Willig obtained am overwhelming victory at a meeting of the BulU Labour electorate council, his candidature being supported by twentyfour votes to three, despite the fact of this expulsion from the State Labour Party, as announced yesterday; " The miners’ federation are calling upon all Members of Parliament, representing coal mining electorates, to tak e the platform fo r Mr Willis. This h-as placed some Labour members in an awkward position
