SUB-UNION MEETS

The weekly meeting was held last evening, Mr J . O.' Stafford (chairman) presiding. There wer© , also present Measifc Thompson, Fane, 'Stopfortii, Cutbush, Lawn, McCallum, Bell, AlcCleary, Dowell and Heenan. The following fixtures for Saturday, May 27th., were arranged:— Seniors:—Excelsior v. Kiwi, 3 p.m., No. 1 ground (Mr J. MeCleary). Ross v. Pirates, at Ross, 3 p.m,, (Mr A. Outbqish), Juniors.-—iSohooi w, Rintos, at Rimu, 3 p.m. (Mr R. Collett); Excelsior v. Kokatahi, at Kokatalii, (Mr M. Wallace) 3 p.ni.; Ross v. Kiwi, at Hokitika, 3 p.m., (Mr W. Fluety).

The West Coast Rugby Union notified that injured players can now be replaced. Mr W. Ryan wrote agreeing to act as representative on the W.C.R.U.

Referees reports were received as satisfactory. The application of A. Stevenson to bo graded as a junior was, after considerable discussion, agreed, to. A similar application by J. O’Connor was also approved. The chairman’s action was approved, in granting a postponement of the Pirates-Kiwi senior game on Saturday last, on the application of the two captains. It was resolved that nominations b© invited for the seven-a-side tourney to be held on Cass Square on Saturday, June 3, for the following grades—'Senior, junior, third grade, shrimps and bantams. All Clubs in Westland and Grey districts to be eligible, nominations to close On Monday, May 29th., at 8 p.m-. Nominations Is per player for seniors and juniors, other grades free. It was resolved to extend an invitation to Harihari, Wataroa and Kumara Clubs to nominate. It was resolved that all tourney trophies be called in.

It was resolved to procure some rule books and affiliation fees to N.Z. Referees Association were passed for payment.
