Under the heading, “‘Joint Check on Rule Britannia,” the paper intimates that since Britain is capable of damaging Japan ,by retaliation, Japan would at presqnt lie contended if the special position in Far Eastern waters was recognised. The Asalii states that since last year’s outbreak at Shanghai Japan’s naval vessels protecting Japanese interests in the Pacific islands have been, withdrawn but that protection will be resumed immediately. --.I
