HAMPTON COURT PAGEANT

King Henry 13 to come back to his favourite palace by the river; my lord Cardinal will revisit his ledgynges; knights, courtiers and fair ladies will tread again the old cobbled stones of the mellowed red courts, and in the Tilt Yard the biavc will joust again lor the favours of the fair.
Hampton Cunt is to have a pageant and live again for a short week of its rich i,ynd colourful past. It will b c ‘ 0110 of the most ambitious pageants ever staged, and it will take more than a year to prepare. It is to take place during the summer of next year, and already the great work of presenting some of the most brilliant pages from the book of England’s history is well in hand. Some 2000 players will take part in tlio, pageant, which ’< will Hell of the history of the Manor of - Hampton from earliest days right down to the present time. The actual episodes to be portrayed have-, not yet been selected', and the choice of a few from such a rich store is going to prove a ti.sk -of some magnitude. Hampt(/u Court has always found a warm corner in the heart of the Londoner. It is easily accessible -and combines the lure of history with pleasant surroundings. The makers of the pageant will find no lack of material. The ealvacade of greatness and romance which marched down the avenues of EuyopeV most beautiful garden include such names of Anne Bolcyn, Edward. ; VT, Protector Somerset, Queen Mary, Philip of S-pfUn, Queen Elizabeth, James I, and Charles I.
