AUCKLAND, May 19

A representative of the Britisn Bi owlcasting Corporation (Mr Malcolm A. Frost) arrived by the-Monteioy to In vetigate the New Zealand reception of programmes horn the Empire Broatlcas£ng Station. He said Ouit line Corporation did not intend to make a charge to the Dominions or colony, for a programme until a regular daily service of real entertainment value wa» provided. (Jiving to the poorness of reception in New Zealand and the imsuitaoility of our stations for relaying the Corporation had supplemented the Empire service with a series of electrical transcriptions for which a sJnall charge will be made.

He emphasised that Empire broadcasts were still in the experimental stage, and as a further experiment oi broadcasting hours were to be allowed from June 1, London would transmit from 4.30 to 6.30 in the morning, five hpurs earlier than at present.
