Sixty thousand men and women assembled at Ninian Park, the headquarters of the Cardiff City Football Club, for the boxing contest. They saw their boxing idol Petersen win the bout in 130 seconds. The end came with such suddenness that many of the ticket-holders had not taken their seats.
