BILL’S VALIDITY CHALLENGED.

The “yes” majority in the referendum poll has been increased to 25,774. Tho figures now stand at: Yes 656,604; No 632,830. The “Labour Daiy” says that acting on behalf of interested parties whose names thus far have not been disclosed, Mr J. Thom, a solicitor, will appear in the Equity Court, prooably on Thursday, to seek an injunction to restrain Cabinet from laying the Upper House Reform Bill before the 'State Governor for the puypose kif (obtaining royal assent.
The chief grounds of the challenge to validity of the Bill arc that the referendum was not conducted according to law, and that the Bill was not submitted to the electors before the poll.
