SHANGHAI, May .14. Chinese official bulletins to-night .admit a general withdrawal in face of. the Japanese offensive launched simultaneously in the Kupeikow and Laun river regions.

The Chinese a t Nantienmcn, just southward of Ivukeikow, sustained three thousand casualties in the. past three days. The Japanese crossed the Luan river, carving a way througn •two divisions.

The Japanese have advanced south of the Great Wall, through the Kupeikow Pass. This advance is creating considerable' anxiety lest, eventually, it should prove that the Japanese intend to capture Peking. The Japanese are now advancing toward Minum on the Kupeikow Roan, only forty miles from Peking, .which is now hurriedly being thrown into a posture of defence.
