LONDON, May 14
The report that American accents will b.e “grafted”; on. .British actors’ and actresses’ voices in the talkies to make them acceptable to America’s Middle West, aroused the opposition of the British producers. The first picture scheduled for this treatment is “Faithful Heart,” made' 1 ' ill London, starring. Herbert Marshall and Edna Best, the producers of which are endeavouring to prevent mutilation. It is pointed out that British audiences lor five years endured the harsh American voices, but the American accent in a British setting would be comical.
