HOUSE BURNED

INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED

(Australian Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, May To,

A five-roomed house at Marshland, owned by Ernest Crozier, was destroyed by-fire at eleven o’clock last evening. The only occupant was Mrs M. Crozier, aged 74, another of the owner, and she had difficulty in escaping. She was crawling out ou her hands and knees when a boy named Jackson, living in a whare nearby, noticed her plight and went to her assistance

The fire is believed to be of incendiary origin, as a suspicious fire on the previous Sunday at the same farm destroyed tbe cowshed, garage, and a haystack, the owner being absent at the. time. r: *
