ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH
ANNUAL PARISHIONERS’ MEETING QUESTION OF THE NEW CHURCH The annual meeting of. Parishioners of All Saints’ Church was held in the Parish hall last evening. There was a large attendance presided over by the vicar, Rev. H. J. W. Knights. Dean Julius, Archdeacon of Rangiora and Westland was also present. The annual report and balance sheet were received and adopted. Notwithstanding the difficult times the balance sheet showed that the financial position at the end of the financial year had slightly improved. The election of officers resulted ns follows: —Vicar’s warden, Mr J. B. Ward (re-appointed); people’s warden, Mr W. E. Richards (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Mr T. R. Saywell (re-elected) < auditor, Mr J i. Michel (re-elected); committee, Messrs L. S. Ross, C. J. King, A. King, R. Thomas, F. W. Chesterman, L. Kernahan, W. D. Mac Kay, R. Wild, W. Rowe, C. Campbell, R. Palmer, H. W. R. Sweiiev, E. Thorn, F. W. Bade and C. Brooks. A motion was carried, rescinding the resolution passed at the special general meeting held on March 7, last and also a motion to the effect that a sub-committee be appointed to investigate the position (of the new church building fund, and other matters in connection with the building of a new church, and to report to a special general meeting of parishioners to be held in August next.
