INQUEST VERDICT
ECHO TO YACHT TRAGEDY. HASTINGS, April 28. That John Weymouth Hurrell died at Pora-ngaha.il on April 25th. from exposure and exhaustion, 1 consequent upon the wreck of the yacht Mizpah, was the verdict returned bv the Actj ing-Coroner at the inquest into the ! death rf John Hurrell, who Avns found j doad on the beach, after having pome ,'inhere from the yacht Mizpah, which ! was wrecked on Tuesday morning. ! The following rider was added : That j the Marine "Department have jurisdiction over nil privately-owned boats leaving their own waters to make ocean ; or coastal cruisers regarding the qualifications of the master and the lifewaving equipment aboard.
