-The three .hundred and sixty-ninth anniversary o.f Shakespeare’s. birthday was celebrated at Stratford-on-Avmi in the presence of thirty nationalities to-day. The main, streets were festooned with the flags of all nations, and a new Union Jack, presented by the King, was released ,by the Mayor. Official delegates walked in the procession. to Shakespeare’s birthplace, and later deposited floral tributes on his tomb in the parish church.
