Before proceeding with the business, the chairman welcomed Air Dowell as a vice-president thanking him specially for his untiring efforts to promote rugby football in AVcsfclaud.

Mr none:! thanked the chairman for the welcome, and in acknowledging the thanks of the members, he stated lie wits always willing and eager to assist the Union and players.

The Borough Council granted the Sub-Union the absolute control and use of Cass Square for the football season, and the right to charge persons for admission to football matches, subject to Council receiving 10 per cent of the nett gate, takings. Air Lawn stated that the Council gave the Union delegation a very cordial reception and the reply of the Council was in accord with terms

agreed upon. Mr Dowell moved that public notice be given in the local paper of the Union’s intention to charge every person for admission to the Square during the currency of football matches, and that admission to Cass 'Square would only he (allowed at the two corner gates, namely the corner ol AVeld and Bealey Streets and corner of Bealey and Stafford fit reels, and that a charge of one shilling he made for admission. Persons gaining admission to the Square by other than the two gates would he prosecuted.

'l’lie motion was seconded by Air AlcCleary and carried. The Rival Club notified that their Club had amalgamated with Pirates, of Rinni, and they desired to enter in the senior competition under the name of Pirates, the home ground to he Hokitika and tile Club colours to ho black and white. They also asked for special permission for the seniors to play in red and white, as the jerseys had been ordered hut will b? altered for next season. The junior team would play in black and white and the home ground would he Rinni. Permission was granted for the amalgamation, and* also to play in colours specified for this season. ! It was resolved to open the season ! on Saturday, April 29, the senior competition to consist of three rounds, ' and the junior competition to consist

of two rounds. Air Dowell moved that the AYest Coast Union he asked if the Sub-Union were entitled to a delegate on the Management Commit tee of the AYest Coast 'Union, alqo that in view of the mew agreement between the Sub-Union i and Borough Council giving absolute j control and right to charge admission, I the AVest Coast jTJnion .allot certain rei presentative fixtures to be played at j Hokitika.

The motion was seconded by Air AloClearv, and carried. Mr AlcClearv moved that tho secretary be empowered to issue free passes to unemployed workers who were followers of the game. Seconded by Mr Dowell, and carried. The following matches were set down for Saturday, April 29: Seniors: —Kiwis v. Pirates, at Cass Square, No. 1 ground (Mr A. Cutbush) ; Ross v. Excelsiors, at Roes, at 3 p.m. (Air J. AlcClearv).

Juniors:—Pirates v. Ross, at Rimu, 3 n.m. (W. Fluerty) ; Kiwis v. Kokatahi, at 3 p.m. (Mark Wallace); School v. Excelsiors, at Ca?s e Square, 3 p.m. (E. Carter). The fixtures for the first round are as follow: SENIOR'S. April 29: —Pirate's v. '.Kiwis, at! Hokitika: Ross v. Excelsiors, at Ross. Alay *6:—ExceViyors r. Kiwis, at Hokitika; Pirates v.
