Their Excellencies spent a qmot Runday at Apia, raid -attended the Protestant church in the evening. They proceeded thence to the wharf to board tho Diomede, accompanied by ministers and a- -large crowd of citizens ami natives, who- gave them a woiiderfu-l farcwo’l. Th 0 visitors were almost overwhelmed .with the cordiality displayed.
Their Excel,’cpci'-V S-anman vi-it .was greatly appreciated by all -ect-ions of t)i e community and it is fishy expected will be pro-due!ive of good results. There are signs that the day of reconciliation will be welcomed by a 1.-.rge number of Samoans.
Functions in connection with the v’sit were well attended. If the weathett on the first- two days bad been favourable there would have been larger gatherings of the native Samoans. All lh-., arrangements -worked admirably. The impression left by Thei,. Excellencies was that -a task, not free from difficulties, had been ably accomplished. *
