There was a great cheering crowd at Liverpool Street, and many women brought bouquets. Moving reunions, hvhereon movie cameras were busy. Mr Felix Pole welcomed and congratulated them on behalf of the compa'ii-y. The crowd broke into the National Anthem, and “For They’re Jolly Good Fellows.”
Not’d wall’s Russian wife seemed swept off her feet in the thrill of the scenes.
Monkhouse. on behalf of his companions, paid high tribute to the effort of the British Embassy, and the warm sympathy of the public. Monkhouse is taking the' first opoprtunity of calling on Mrs Thornton.

There is no hqws of a petition on behalf of Thornton and MacDonald, hut the Foreign Office to-day • authorised British Ernbessv officials to visit them at- Sokolinlcu prison on Monday. Under the Tsars, this -was reputedly one of the worst masons in Russia. Tt was rebuilt under the Soviet and it is rv'one of the show ~ls.ro; as the model prison with gardens f-nd workshops.
