WELLINGTON, April 22. Fatal injuries to the head were sustained by Airs Mildred Pippard, of 48, Ellice Street, when-she was knocked down by a tram at Kent Terrace at 8.35 p.m. yesterday! Frederick Doell, aged 50, of 38 Wallace Street, who was accompanying I Mrs Pippard, was also knocked down by the. tram, and he sustained a frac- j turetl right arm,.abrasions to the head, I and shock. The tram was travelling from Lyall I Bay to Lambton Station, and the accident took place a few yards past tje Elizabeth Street points. - It is understood Airs Pippard and Doell had come down Elizabeth Street and were crossing over to Cambridge Terrace. When the accident occurred, rain was falling, and it is stated that the visibility at the time was poor.
