LONDON, April 21. The “Daily Express” understands that the Soviet lias decided to release and . expel \V. H. MacDonald and W. H. i•Thornton next week. /' Those already deported, John Cushny, Charles Nordwall and ‘'Alan Monkhouse, crossed .the frontier into Poland at Dailystok. Their first request on leaving the train was for a healthy meal. They then entrained for Warsaw. Monkhouse, who ■' was very pale,
spoke emotionally. He said lie could not understand the reason for his arrest. He . did not believe any of liis colleagues were guilty. “MacDonald’s curious conduct beats me. I believe he was hypnotised. When I was examined, I found the -same glassy eyes always staring into mine. I turned away but MacDonald apparently succumbed to hypnotic power.” British listeners heard a Moscow broadcast station stating that the Soviet would cancel existing contracts with England and not place, ahy fresh orders with British firms,/ The Moscow correspondent of the United Press Association- reports that the Soviet hag. ordered , a cessation of trade with Britain as ft retaliation for the British embargo;-
SOVIET TRADE REPRISALS.
DIRECTED AGAINST BRITAIN
LONDON, April 22,
The exchange , telegraph agency’s Moscow correspondent reports that the Soviet has ordered that all of the Soviet trading organisation must cease their chartering of British ships. Higher taxes are to be levied-on all British ships visiting the Soviet waters. .
The Russian Foreign Trade Commissariat also announces 1 its intention-of making -harder the transit of-British goods through -Soviet territory.
NAZIS WELCOME VICKERS MEN
