On the Arahura road a transformer of the Westland Electric lino was struck and set on fire. On the Kanieri Electric line near the dredge a transformer was struck and caught fire, but in each instance the fl'ames were quickly extinguished:!. Most of the interruptions were repaired yesterday but direct conimuricnfion with Chrifitchurch had not been resumed at noon to-day, but communirtition was made through Greymouth with Christchurch.
