KOKATAHI SHOOT
FOR I. BROWN CUP
Th e Kokatahi Gun Club held a clay bird shooting contest at Kokatahi on Good Friday afternoon. The wealthcr conditions were not good there being showers and a, fairly strong- wind. The annual contest for the I. Brown Cup was the main feature. Thi 6 attracted seven entries and the winner proved to be J. W. Kelly with 11 birds out ot 'l2. J. >G. Meharry, V. Fleming, A. It. Cropp .and S. Godfrey tied for second place with ten. hits each. In the shoot off Fleming and Meharry dropped' out in the first round and the two others went on till the sixth round, when Godfrey missed, leaving A. R. Cropp in second place. The winner secured e , trophy to hold for the year and also a miniature silver cup presented by the Club. A novice event was then shot off and from eight competitors, H. O’Brien wa s successful with four hits out of five, F. ‘McCullough being second with three hits.
