A FIRE AT ASHBURTON

ASHBURTON, -Ajvril 18

A 'seven or eight roomed house, owned and occupied by Matthew Clark, in Winters Road, A Menton, was destroyed by fire iat three o’clock this morning from an unknown cause. The ttcjmpants left yesterday -morning on a holiday visit to Christchurch. The s°n left the house at noon and, s 0 far as is known, did not return. When discovered the me was right through th e building which wag beyond the fire brigade area. AU of the outbuildings were destroyed, and none of the house contents were Saved. The insurances are not available.
