WRITING DOWN OF CAPITAL RECOMMENDED

The expert committee which has been linvostigating the Victorian railway system, intends to recommend the writing-down of the nominal capital 0 f the railways by one-third, and also the establishment of a depreciation fund, which at present does not exist. The total capital in which interest in being paid amounts to £75,000,000.
