The officers of the steamer, City of Delhi, which berthed at Brisbane, tell the story of a tempestuous voyoge from NeWastle*bn-T ! yiie. to Philadelphia. When only one day . out, they encountered a gale, and during the height thereof a wireless message was received from the steamer Exeter City, stating that the captain and two men wfcre lost'w hen'the bridge' was swept overboard, and calling for assistance. •’( ‘ While 'the City of Delhi was- racing to her assistance, the tail shaft broke,' and for two days the vessel drifted, before the gale: Eventually the City of Tiille took her in tow, but the rope broke, and the storm, increasing in fury, made it impossible for the tow to be resumed for another two days.
Eventually the City of Delhi reached 'Boston Harbour. The Exeter City foundered after the crew were rescued by the steamer. American Merchant.
