THIEVES SECURE. VALUABLE HAUL. LONDON, March 31. Pearls of great beauty and diamonds, Cut and uncut, valued at- £12,000, disappeared from the pocket-of Mr Haiold Elea-n, of Hatton Garden, when lie was in Manchester, and t.re still'- missing. A description of them was circulated to all the- police and pawnbrokers in the country. The police have yet to solve the mystery whether the- jewels were lost or stolen. Mr Rican is convinced that Ills pocket was picked. H,.> left a ,s)iop in fit. Ann Street at ,‘l.4d after putting the jewels, which were in a wallet, in the inside breast pocket- r.f his coat. Twenty-live minutes later, on Victoria Station, lie discovered the wallot was, missing.
