QUESTION OF SECESSION

SYDNEY, April 7,
General elections are being held in two States to-morrow, South Australia and Western Australia.
A referendum on the question of secession from the Federation is also on Issue for the l electors of the latter State, where interest is at fever heat. The other States are awaiting the verdict, as a decision in .favour of secession is regarded as .certain to have an important repercussions in Eastern Australia.
There are 121 candidates for fortyone contested seat t -$ in Western Australia. In nin e electorates the members are unopposed. Never before in the history 0 f West, ern Australia have the Ministers been so seriously in their electorates.
