"What appears to have been a murder and suicide pact was discovered at the Sacred Hill in Madras. Six bodies'were found on - a raised mound. A seventh body, that of a middleaged .Indian, was found hanging from a tree. A letter on this body indicated the man was:n native of Trmhinopoly, that his family were destitute, and unhappy, and that he had decided to kill his wife, two sons, two daughters and baby before, committing suicide. There was evidence that their ’nst moments were spent in «. meal and in prayer.
