Mine report for month of . March : —• No. 3 level : North east in ten mediate drive off rise on Jones' reef at 50 fees above No. 3 level: Advanced 14 feet; total 34 feet. Passed through a biocK of stone about 12"fc-et long >vith an average width of' 4 feet and showing a, little gold in the' solid. Tne stone waj> then cut off by a fault, and driving was suspended to permit a small winze to bo .sunk. This has 1 since been .sunk 0 .feet, and the reef, which, in' the drive was 4 loot wide, became small underfoot. so sinking was suspended. A prospecting drive was Opened out on tne south-west .side of the above rise and driven 12 feet when old workings were met with., South Drive (No. 1)' off main east level at 197 ft from draft:-—Extended 14 feet, total 158 feet. No change in lode track which continued to carry a little stone but was considerab.y disturbed by faulting. Rise above south drive (No. if at point Stilt- from entrance, opened out and advanced 7 feet above level. Stone averaged 2 reet wide, and showed gold in breaking. Stone olr rise above South Drive (No. 1): —A leading stope was carried in on north side of the rise for 16 feet. The stone' proved smaller than in the drive below, the average width being 16 inches, but fair gold was seen in breaking. A 1 leading’stope is now being carried in oil south side of rise for convenience of stowing mullock, after which rising on the lode will be resumed.
No. 2‘ South Drive off Main East Level:—Advanced 6 feet, total 50 feet. This face has been stopped.
North East Branch Drive off Main i East Level 153 ft ; 4rdjn shaft: —Has been advanced ,o feet.arid. driving suspended. Duggan's-Reef at No. 1 Adit at point 184 ft from entrance: —A little work by the old company ,on a . nice looking reef at this point lias exposed a body of gohl-bearing stone. (assaying 3 to 4 •dwts. per ton) from 2ft to 3ft in width over a length of about 40ft, at whHi point the lode was faulted. Driving along the fault to intersect the. south easterly continuation of the lode will be resumed in the hope of payable values making in the lode.
