A BIG LOSS

CUNARD COMPANY IN 1933

LONDON, March 26.

The annual report of the C'unard Steamship Company, Limited, shows a loss in 1932, after providing for depreciation and debenture interest, of £927,261. The report mentions that the structure p.nd machinery for the unfinished Ounard liner are being maintained in perfect order. Negotiations are in progress which may lead to the resumption of the work of construction which was suspended in December, 1931.

Australia’s improved position was reflected in a slight expansion of the outward cargo of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line. The alteration in New Zealand exchange was likely to restrict British imports.
