The weather was again splendid and the course excellent, and the attendance large for the second day of the Thames Trotting Club’s' meeting, Pageant repeated his cup victory in a splendid finish in the goldfields Handicap, heads separating the placed horses. An inquiry was held into the running of Francis Lincoln', in the Totara Handicap ' and the stewards’ verdict was that while they considered the horse had not been driven to the best advantage, after very careful consideration they decided to take no further action.

ROSEHILL RACES. SYDNEY, April 2. The Roselxill races yesterday were run in wet weather. The chief event was the Rawson Stakes. Results weie. Rawson Stakes.— Lough Neagh, 1; Kuvera, 2 ; Dermid, 3. Eight started. Won by ;a neck ; third three lengths away. Time 1.53. Tbe result was a complete “boil-over” due to Peter Pan losing six lengths at tbe start, when his mouth was caught in tbci barrier tapes. Braeburn, Rogilla, Ore and Dennis Boy, finished indifferently in that order. Eosehill Autumn Handicap.—Pretzel 1; Satmotli, 2; Veilmond, 3. Nine started, including Lavington. Won by. a length ; third three-quarters of a length away. Time 2.35*. In tbe Nursery Handicap, the New Zealander, Frimsel, was third. Prestige was unplaced. Peter Pan’s mishap at Roseliill is the topic of conversation in racing circles. The horse was playfully nibbling the bottom tape 0 f the barrier, and he refused to desist. When the barrier rose lie was caught unawares, and his mouth was slightly cut. The jockey, Bartle, decided not to push the champion when he saw that there was little chance of making up the lost ground.
