There are different versions of M. Paul Boneour’s reference to Signor Mussolini’s peace plan before ■ the French Commission on Foreign-'Affair!;. According to ,th e mo s t reliable authorities h e said that it would be wrong systematically to oppose this proposal providing for closer and continuous co-operation between tl'i© four V powers ; but he pointed out that France would accept no pact that was to ' be superimposed on :the League of Nations, or one failing to recognise the l ■ political and leg-1 e quality as between the great and the small -powen*. 5 : ;
